How it works

Step 1

Sign up to the Mates & Mentors platform to complete your profile. You'll be asked for your name and location, as well as a couple of questions about the work you do and your experience.

Step 2

Opt-in Monthly Intro

Each month you'll get an email asking you to opt-in to our monthly intros. Each month you opt-in, you'll be introduced to someone in the EVP portfolio based on topics relevant to you that month.

Step 3

Meet up

Your monthly intro email will ask you to schedule a chat. You can suggest a time and add this straight to your calendar. When it's time to meet, jump on the call through the platform.

Step 4

Explore

Interested to connect with more people? You can jump onto the Mates & Mentors platform and proactively reach out to people who you'd like to connect with.

Who is Mates & Mentors for?

All employees in companies in the EVP Portfolio.

What's the point of it?

To make it simpler for the entire EVP community to connect in an easy relevant way. Ultimately, we hope it leads to people feeling they have the support they need (when they can’t get it from their direct team) to thrive.

Why’s it called Mates & Mentors?

Because sometimes ‘mates’ can provide the best mentorship, and sometimes ‘mentors’ can be great mates. To begin with, we’re focused on introductions to create that organic sense of connection – in time, we’ll set up a structured mentoring option for those who are interested.

Can I pause introductions?

Of course! Each month you are required to opt-in to receive an introduction. If you don't opt-in, you don't receive an intro for that month, and can opt-in the following month once you're calendar is freer!

Do I have to meet people I'm introduced to each month?

Not at all – the point of Mates & Mentors is to broaden your connections of people working on similar problems as you. We don't expect everyone to meet. Our goal is that you're introduced to people who might be able to offer support at different stages of your work journey.

How do we match people for introductions?

Matches are made entirely based on what topics you'd like to chat about each month. You can update these in your member profile. If you don't update them, it'll default to matching based on your function.
