I started my career in Investment Banking at Macquarie Capital, where I had the opportunity to work across both the US and Australia. During my time there, I focussed on Software and Technology assets, advising clients on major mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the financial side of the tech world, as well as the strategic challenges and opportunities facing companies in the sector.
I’m particularly passionate about the Education Technology sector. The potential for technology to improve education, make learning more accessible, and equip the next generation with the tools they need to succeed is something that deeply resonates with me. I believe that EdTech has the power to transform the way we learn, whether it’s through personalised learning platforms, online education, or tools that support teachers and students. The ability to impact society on a large scale excites me, and I’m eager to support innovative companies that are driving long-standing change in education.
Venture Capital offers the opportunity to not just observe but actively shape the future of industries. I've always been drawn to the early-stage growth phase of companies—where innovative ideas have the potential to disrupt markets. After spending time in finance, I saw firsthand how important it is to have the right partners who understand the challenges and can provide strategic guidance. Venture Capital allows me to combine my experience in business strategy and finance to help visionary entrepreneurs build the next generation of transformative companies. It’s incredibly rewarding to work with founders who are passionate about solving big problems and to contribute to their journey in a meaningful way.
One piece of advice that has stuck with me is: “Focus on the long-term impact, not just short-term gains.” It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day challenges, but I’ve learned that true success comes from thinking about the broader vision. In my career, I’ve found that building strong, trusting relationships with founders, management teams, colleagues, and partners is just as important as the financial and strategic aspects of business. The most successful ventures are often the ones where everyone is aligned on a shared vision and is working toward a common goal.
I’m an avid fan of my hometown sports teams, and am unfortunately too young to remember the golden age of Chicago sports during the Jordan era. Instead, every week you’ll be able to find me yelling at the TV after another inevitable Chicago Bears loss.
